I am based in the UK and I began working full time in Pig Production in 1971 having worked as a 'boy' with pigs since 1966. I worked with pedigree breeds like the Large White, Landrace, Welsh, Berkshire, Large Black and the Essex and Wessex¹ Saddlebacks (¹forebears of the US Hampshire). Commercial hybrid parent stock was introduced in the 1970's using Sire and Dam lines. In my late 30's I became a breedingstock salesman and then migrated within the breeding company to Genetic Production Management. After a few years I moved to manage the development of a pig recording software business in the UK. My passion and my experience is pig production and Stephen Hall Management combines these two elements to support pig producers through the interpretation of production data into management action.
